An ode to my three years in College

This is dedicated to all those who made my three years in college memorable,

To the big stone building that became our home
To those morning assemblies, to the compulsory attendance in them
, to those seniors who made us play imaginary cricket
, to all those arbits & epsilons that suddenly played a vital role in our life,
, to the teachers who took extra classes right from day one
, to those who threw us out of tutorials for not having thought enough on our impossibly hard assignments
, who still remember what we said in a particular tutorial
, who never got angry at us for giving stupid answers but being happy at
Getting answers
To the one question that we solved
To the significant smell that hits as soon as you enter college during monsoons
To all those notes that we mugged
To the amazing fusion concert
To the head banging in the rock concert & realizing it was not my cup of tea
To sleeping in classes & waking up only for attendance
To those long queues at the bank counter on the last day of term bill
For being perpetually hungry & sleepy

To those friends who always forgot your birthday & still do
, to the few who remember sometimes
, who kept on falling without any rhyme or reason
, who made the classes interesting by talking about mosquito bites
, who never laughed on your jokes or, worse still laughed after
An interval of 3 seconds
, to those drunk friends who refused to recognize you as their classmate
, to those friends whom we begged to let us watch basketball finals
, to those friends who paid your fees
, to those endless discussions with friends about the future
, to the friends who smoked &then ran to get mint before the class
, to the friends who always gave missed calls
, to the mass bunks in which the whole class attended the lecture
& finally to one successful mass bunk in 3 years
To that movie which we went for, after taking permission
To the reunions in the bathrooms after every class
To all those innumerable knockings on loo doors because there were no latches

To never studying the whole year
& then sitting in the lawns during winters & studying
To all those malis who watered the lawns so that we don’t sit there

To the maggi served in the café that had things resembling rat shit & smelled of a dirty wet dog
To the cutlets that were served without ketchup
To the nimbu pani
To the uncooked mess food
To the subzi that we could never make out
To the bhelpuri that became our staple diet

Last but not the least, to all those dogs who thought our classes were a thoroughfare
Who thought that chairs are for sleeping
For being the most attentive audience in the class
For wanting the samosa but rejecting the aloo in it

And to all those people in the photocopy shop, library, office, carpool guys for making me realize that no matter what, everybody is good at heart & to all the other little imperfections that made my life perfect.

Thank you guys.
